My Introduction to Reiki

A few years ago I went to a retreat and met many wonderful and interesting holistic women. There was a yoga instructor, a woman who makes delicious teas from herbs and flowers, another who creates her own ayurvedic oils, a crystal therapist (and oh, do I love my rocks and crystals) and the Reiki Master who introduced me to Reiki and gave me my first Reiki treatment. Now mind you, I was on the Reiki table surrounded by 8 women who were watching my enlightenment.

The session began and it was a little hard to relax being the center of attention but I quickly began to feel the energy swirling around me and could not help but close my eyes and enjoy the feelings that were engulfing me. Reiki can make you feel many things; such as heat, energy and emotions. It can make you itch, sigh, twitch and cough. Most people feel one or two. I felt everything! While Reiki is clearing and balancing it is also releasing any emotions or feelings that you no longer need and it was one of the most amazing and uplifting hours that I can ever remember.

From that moment on, I have become absorbed in Reiki, reading books, taking classes and learning everything that I can. I have become a Reiki Master and I use my collection of stones and crystals in my Reiki energy practice. Everywhere I turn, I seem to meet people who are connected with Reiki and want to learn about Reiki.

It’s amazing to me that my interests have come full circle since I was a young girl, drawing mazes and circles and collecting stones and crystals and to see how now everything has come together for me and just makes so much sense. Reiki has opened a new world for me when I have needed it the most. It has brought me uplifting joy, enlightenment, understanding, balance, healing and intuition and I look forward to sharing these feelings with everyone.
